C starts school

Distance learning started rocky, but the kid's teachers have adapted and so have we. Things have improved so much I am considering homeschooling the boys in the fall, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. The last tricky piece in all this is C. Having M, J, and D home has been hardest on him because I have been so focused on the older kids that his needs get swept by the wayside.

Looking at D's textbook by himself because we were all too busy to read to him.

He is desperate to do school like his siblings and I mentioned this to my Mother in Law who learned of a program her retired teacher friend is doing with her grandson. Her friend sent me the link and C has started preschool. He is in heaven. Spending 20 minutes a day with him learning about bugs, garbage trucks, rocks, or animals has transformed him. He is proud of his accomplishment and relishes telling his brothers and sister what he learned about and boasting that he is done before they are. It has made him infinitely more patient and cheered his little heart. Things are on the up and up.
