Utah Renaissance Faire

Homeschooling is awesome sauce. Today’s adventure was the Utah Renaissance Faire which gave us an opportunity to learn about the renaissance era. We learned about jousting, sword fighting, weaponry, we listened to traditional music, watched horse vaulting, witnessed sword swallowing, the kids got bookmarks with their names in calligraphy, and we brought turkey legs home for dinner. As we were walking back to the car at the end of the day D said Faire was “awesome, fun, weird, and gross.” We all completely agreed.

Front row for jousting. The ground shook when the horse thundered by.

Such unique vendors with unusual wares and wonderful senses of humor.

So fun to watch.

Three swords because one was not enough.

A sword balancing on the sword inside him.

He said "Don't try this at home, but where do you think I learned how to do this?"

D's eyes lit up.

Crap.
