Please protect the people of Afghanistan.
Please help those who have sacrificed their lives for America and our allies.
Please shield those who are intellectuals, queer, female, affiliated with America or its allies, musicians, those who dream, artists, and children from those who are seeking to harm them.
Please help them to get out safely.
Please help them find their way to the airport and aboard planes.
Please protect our military. Many of them are children fighting for an idealistic American dream; for right and wrong. Please bless them for their service and sacrifice. Please protect them from harm. Please keep them safe. Please comfort them as they are away from home. Please bless their families. Help them feel peace amid war.
Please soften the hearts of the Taliban and other extremist groups, foreign and domestic. Please help them to see people as individuals and to value and celebrate or at least tolerate differences. Please take away their desire for hatred and vengeance. Please stop the torture, the fighting, the killing. Please make it stop.
Thank Thee for the goodness in the world. Often it is hard to see but there is still so much good. We are thankful that when there are people who are hurt and afraid, so many rush to ease anguish. So many more people try to help, than try to hurt. We are thankful for good people. Please bless those who are assisting refugees that they will be able to process information quickly and efficiently and get those suffering where they can thrive and flourish.
Please heal us.
