Indefinite homeschoolers

When COVID closed schools the last nine weeks of the 2020 school year, chaos reigned in this house. We were trying to follow plans and instructions from public educators who had been thrust into an untenable situation. It was awful. We didn't know what the next year would bring so I made the decision to homeschool the kids for the year to provide stability and academic continuity. Thankfully I had the flexibility to make that choice because Steve provides well for our family. And though we both had concerns and reservations, he supported trying homeschool.

It has been a year. The question we get all the time is if we are going back to public school and the answer is...no. Homeschool is an amazing fit for our family. We have flexibility, autonomy, and freedom; to learn, think, feel, act, and grow in ways that are impossible with 35 kids in a classroom. (Mad respect for teachers!) So we are homeschoolers...indefinitely. Let's see where this adventure takes us...

2021-2022 1st day back to homeschool

Would not open his eyes.

Open eyes and open mouth.

Serious.

Silly.

Serious.

Silly like D.

Composed smile.

Flipping hair.

The real smile I love.
