Today D asked to watch an art video. He wanted to draw Spider-man. He was thrilled with his effort. So was I.
We had to meet with M's FFA advisor and this saying was on the wall of the school.
That is exactly how I feel. Education is extremely powerful because it opens the world beyond your tiny corner. You can see others who think, act, feel, and speak differently than you. You can walk in someone's shoes. You are stretched and paradigms are challenged. You learn to be uncomfortable. You grow into someone new and hopefully more understanding, more compassionate. Changed for the better.
