Snowshoeing

Ever since D's birthday we have talked about going snowshoeing, but it just hasn't happened...until today. We needed something to distract from our sadness at missing Mongo so we headed to the mountains for our first ever snowshoeing as a family.

Steve and I had gone with friends early in our marriage and we had a grand time hiking around Donut Falls, making our own paths. This experience was completely different. For one thing, we had four dependent humans with us and secondly we went to Sundance so there was a groomed trail. The final consensus for our day was that the kids liked snowshoeing. In the future my vote is for making our own way, but I'm glad we could spend an unseasonably warm day with the fam having a new adventure.

J lost his snowshoe and boot in a particularly deep drift.

Steve's favorite peak: Timpanogos.

D bounded from tree to bark to frozen bug. He is endlessly inquisitive.

We paused for wild turkeys crossing the road...

...and ended the outing with Vampire Penguin.
