I learned I have some hearing loss about eight years ago. The doctors told me it was congenital. Translation: I was born with it. It was a fluke and nothing that could be passed on so imagine my surprise when C started complaining of hearing noises in his ears. I have tinnitus and for me it is a constant high pitched shriek which was similar to what he was describing. We had him checked out today and his hearing was perfect, but we'll have him evaluated occasionally just to keep tabs on him. The audiologist thought there was a pretty good chance he might have inherited it from me after all. Genetics. Crazy stuff.
