Frankenbike

Our boys are insanely hard on clothes, shoes, and bikes. Clothes and shoes go from new and shiny to dirty and ripped in days. Bikes stick around for a few months, but ultimately meet the same fate. We have a bike junkyard to prove it.

D had destroyed yet another one and rather than purchase a new set of wheels, Steve got creative. Today he built this bike from the parts of three others. I was giddy. My husband utilized my favorite motto: Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without. True love!

While Dad and D worked on the bike, C played in the dirt. I love when my kids play in the dirt. It feels elemental and grounding. C just thinks it's fun and doesn't spend time weighing the deep philosophy behind it all.
