Salt Lake windstorm

Hurricane force winds blew through Salt Lake toppling and splintering hundred year old trees like toothpicks. Steve grew up in one of the hardest hit areas and went to check on his parents and survey the damage. He was saddened by what he found.

Scenes like this were everywhere you looked.

Thankfully no trees fell on his parent's house, but their seventy year old Lindon tree sustained root damage and lifted the sidewalk anytime the wind blew. In their backyard a neighbor's tree took out a major power line and knocked down their fence. The tree rested on the power line and no one could be in the backyard until crews could cut the tree and safely remove it.

We went up a few days later to bring dinner since his parents were out of power for nearly a week. The boys took the opportunity to play with the extra foliage, eat snacks, and be silly.

2020 has been intense.
