Fight as only stripling warriors can

Today's home church lesson included the story of the stripling warriors; a group of 2060 young boys who chose the prophet Helaman to lead them to battle against the fierce Lamanite army. (Spoiler alert: they were an enormous boon to the beleaguered Nephite army.)

I wanted to show the kids how intimidating it would have been for these stripling warriors, so I invited a friend of ours to battle our children in our front yard. (Thank you for helping!)

It. Was. Awesome.

M went first and set a high standard. She came out swinging and surprised us all.

D was more than happy to prove he was capable of fighting a foe.

C wanted to show he was as brave as his siblings.

J laid it all on the line and was victorious.

Then Steve was the Lamanite for their kids and ultimately suffered great defeat.

After home church Steve showed C Animoji. He is a huge fan.

And we are eating watermelons from our garden! It's like magic. You plant seeds, the drip system waters it, and we get food! So delicious.
