Buffalo Peak

A friend of mine recommended the Buffalo Peak Trail. She said it would be the perfect hike for Steve and I since it would give him the views without strenuous exercise from me. She was right. It was a lovely jaunt. It was short with small elevation gain and only one small section at the top where it was steep and rocky. There were not many people and we took our time meandering along the trail. The kids had a great time exploring and loved trying to catch the butterflies that flitted all around us. They were also thrilled to be out of the house without masks. I would do the hike again and that is really saying something. Steve loved the views, but lamented we didn't deserve them because our bodies were not screaming in agony from sending them up punishing mountainsides. Oh brother. *eye roll*

Striking a pose.

The shirt says it all.

Steve wore binoculars and the kids took turns looking through them.

These flowers permeated the air with the scent of grapefruit. It was awesome.

D loves all things wildlife. He chased butterflies until they started to land on him.

Clearly I took this one.
