Return to Ashton Gardens

I finally felt safe enough to take the kids to Ashton Gardens and they were able to run free. And I mean, RUN. They soaked up their newfound freedom and took turns using my phone to take almost 200 pictures. We all agreed it was nice to be out, but felt strange after being almost exclusively at home for three months.

D loves living creatures great and small and has an innate ability to draw them to him. We found the perfect shaded spot to feed the fish, but he was not satisfied to just toss his bread into the water willy-nilly. He coaxed them until they were eating out of his hand.

Unfortunately, he also wanted the geese to eat out of his hands and they were more than willing to take his bread when he tossed a chunk to them before I could stop him. D was convinced he could tame them, but I was not in the mood to test his theory. A whole gaggle swam over and we lost our spot in the shade.

D found a new spot in the sun to feed the fish.

You can see the geese enjoying the shade in the background.

M, J, and C enjoyed the fish show from the deck overlooking the water.

Freedom.
