I encourage the kids to engage with their environment so when we saw a science experiment that crushed cans by heating them up and submerging them in cold water, we were all in. We did not have a hot plate so we improvised using the stove top. It did not work. Not hot enough.
Then we tried to heat up the cans on a griddle. Still didn't work. Still not hot enough.
The boys moved on to filling the cans with water and splashing water all over the kitchen. Not all experiments are winners around here, but they are always entertaining.
