Steve's (quarantined) B-day

Steve loves a good birthday celebration and was bummed when he realized he was going to have to stay at home even though he was now another year older. The kids brightened his day with pomp and circumstance by making pictures, posters, and set out M&M's they hoped Dad would share with them. The kids found an M&M cookie recipe that Steve deemed his new favorite.

We spent the morning and early afternoon listening to '60's rock. I blew Steve's mind with my vast knowledge of the decade. Seriously. My parents only allowed us to listen to two radio stations growing up...classical and oldies. Growing up in the '80's, the music of the 40's, 50's, and 60's reigned supreme on the oldies station. Not surprisingly we preferred that to the music of of the 1640's, 1750's, and 1860's.

We had a leisurely afternoon and for dinner Steve chose grilled Cajun shrimp, quinoa, and sauteed asparagus. We made him coconut tapioca pudding which he ate, but decided he preferred his Mom's recipe. We were sure to tell Grammy that when we spoke to them afterwards. We ended the night watching The Incredible Dr Pol as a family.

As we were going to bed Steve had a look of surprise on his face. I asked why and he said he enjoyed his home birthday even though he was positive he was going to be disappointed. I call that a win for the home team.
