Easter 2020

This has been an especially tender and meaningful Easter. We participated in #HearHim and spent the week focusing on Christ in our family scripture study. I do not have words adequate to express what His atonement means to me, but I am especially grateful that He comforts us when we sorrow and removes the sting of death.

In our church, before ministering brothers and sisters, we had visiting and home teachers. For years we had a wonderful, faithful home teacher who visited us every month and over time our families became good friends. A year and a half ago he was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Since that time, Steve and I have had the sacred privilege to assist their family in unique ways as the illness progressed. His recent death has weighed heavy on our souls as we grieve with his wife and children. How grateful we are for the atonement that has power over the grave. Because of Jesus Christ we can be with our families for eternity, never again to part.

While Steve and I emphasized the Savior, we also made time for coloring Easter eggs and hunting for them.

A treat to start the day.

This year we used food coloring and WOW did those colors pop.

Dad did an excellent job hiding the eggs.

Waiting for Dad to hide them all.

The last egg was so well hidden it took 15 minutes of earnest searching. It was C that eventually spotted it in the tree and when he did he yelled, "BOOM! I found it!"
