We are staying home

It has been difficult to know how seriously to take the cornavirus. There have been vast amounts of misleading and inaccurate information. Ultimately Steve and I felt like there were few reliable sources within the U.S. and even those were behind the eight ball. So after looking at the impact of the coronavirus in China and Italy, we have decided to take it seriously and stay home. As of March 14th, we (the folks in this house), will not leave except for work and brief runs to the grocery store. In addition we will have no visitors. By the time this resolves we will be each other's besties.

The list we created as a family to make the most of our time together.

The time at home has encouraged increased creativity. A few days ago the kids made a walking rainbow. Watching the watery colors travel and drop into the jars was interesting.

M and C submerged two eggs in colored vinegar for a few days until the vinegar ate through the shell leaving the egg intact and squishy. It was neat to hold it up to the light, shake it, and watch the yolk move around. When smooshed, it oozed just like a newly cracked egg.

M made us all matching bracelets.

Mongo has proven a perfect photography subject.

The kids also enjoyed a care package of pajamas and a jacket from Grammy and Grampy. Thank you!
