M has been anticipating 7th grade's "Take your child to work day" for weeks. Of note: She forcefully told me she did not want to shadow me and did
not want me to present at her career day because what I do makes people
sad. Apparently the life of a social worker is not glamorous to the
preteeners. Anyhoo...what Daddy does is far more lighthearted and
engaging and she could not wait to spend the day with him. She and Steve have been planning their day and were looking forward to some one on one time.
Unfortunately, career day coincided with the start of the Coronavirus. Schools have shortened to half days while everyone figures out a plan. Steve and M were able to still go to his office, but he could not take her to the other work locations they planned. Serious disappoint on both sides.
While they were gone J and C passed the time while I tried to figure out our next move as a family since this might be our new normal for awhile.
