Eyelid surgery

I noticed a growth on J's lower eyelid several months ago and tried to decide if it was something to be concerned about. It continued to grow so we took him to several doctors and learned it was a chalazion and would need to be surgically removed or it could press on his eyeball, change its shape, and affect his vision.

Surgery day arrived. J was a trooper. Not one ounce of nerves. He was cheerful and jovial throughout the morning. Other than waking up from anesthesia hangry, he was a gem. The entire medical team commented on his sweetness. The surgery was flawless. J has had no pain and though he was supposed to stay home from school the day after, he insisted on going. The only thing that has put a damper on his recovery spirits is that he cannot play outside for seven days because it will elevate his heart rate. He is bored to tears and eager to run. Just a few more days, Sweet Boy.

The doctor circled the bump that would need to be removed.

J wanted to know what his bandage looked like.

C cheered when J came home and pulled a stool over to talk to his brother face to face.
