D is 8

Our beautiful D is 8. That boy is energy, energy, energy. He has an insatiable desire for knowledge. He asks in depth questions and expects correct, in depth answers. He is a competitive soul and wants to win at everything. He is driven and focused. He is a hard worker. He is cheerful and laughing most of the time. He loves his Dad and wants to be just like him. D keeps us hopping and we would not want it any other way. We love you Sweet Boy!

We celebrated at Zeppe's after M's recital. It was delicious, but we froze. We decided Zeppe's in the heat of a St George summer is easier on the body temp than the chill of a frosty January night.

He blew out birthday candles on an app. Very handy in a place with a fire code.

D chose dutch babies with blueberries, peach syrup, and whipped cream for breakfast.

He chose swimming for our family activity.

And for dinner he chose tofu. Yes, you read that right. My eight year old boy asked for tofu for his birthday dinner. Drain it, squeeze it, dredge it in cornstarch, season with Penzey's English Prime Rib Rub, and fry it in a tablespoon of olive oil. That's what makes my kid salivate. He also asked for mashed potatoes and gravy with peas. Anything for you Baby!

Then he frosted cupcakes.

We all sang while he made a wish.
