SeaQuest

We have wanted to go to SeaQuest for some time, but when we found a Groupon, our stars finally aligned. We were there for two hours and had a great time. Normally I don't pay for extras like tokens, but they were included with the Groupon and I am so glad they were. It made a huge difference in our experience.

What you can see: big fish under the water.
What you can't see: Caiman on a log sticking out of the water.

D and an iguana.

J and an iguana.

Feeding the tropical fish seaweed strips.

Meeting Norman the 25 year old tortoise. C was not interested.

Unable to sit on Norman, they found something else.

Feeding the stingrays. This was incredibly cool.

Doctor fish sucking on my fingers. Unnerving sensation.

Doctor fish sucking on everyone's fingers. This was one of M's favorite things.

D found a parrot and quickly figured out that when he flapped his arms the bird copied him.
D was thrilled.

Around this time we were petting sharks (which is pretty trippy) and a lady said they were leaving and handed us her extra tokens! Yes!

M chose to feed the Silkie chicken, but the chicken wasn't hungry so D showed M how to do it.
The boy is incorrigible.

Petting a monitor.

J chose to feed Norman, but we had to wait for more butternut squash to be cut up and because we were patient they did not make us use tokens. Another yes! C finally got brave enough to feed Norman with M and J's support.

D chose to feed the stingrays, but he would only let go of the shrimp if he could put it right in their mouths. That boy has no fear and is brimming with curiosity about how everything works. Or eats.

After SeaQuest we tried Dragon's Puff. It it a Korean treat. Sweet rice puffs the consistency of Cheese Puffs doused in liquid nitrogen and then dipped in flavored sauces. Once you bite into them you breathe out liquid nitrogen smoke. Here's the thing...it was so fun and we didn't know until later that it was dangerous. So we won't do it again, but we were sure glad we didn't know that at the time.

M was a HUGE fan.

J was not a fan of the puffs or the smoke, but he liked the mango and caramel sauces.

D and Steve thought it was pretty cool though D's face does not reflect that.

C was too young to eat the liquid nitrogen puffs which could have caused a burn so he was given plain ones to dip. He was furious.

All in all it was a perfectly lovely outing. It is always fun to try new things and experience new adventures.
