My Mom cleaned out her food storage and we were the lucky recipients. (Thank you!) There were several things that needed to be thrown out so I gave the kids the job of opening the cans and dumping the food out so we could take the cans to the recycler. This was a job they could get behind. They loved opening the cans, smelling the food, deciding if it smelled fine or rancid, dumping it out and starting all over again. They were so focused. It was fun watching them. At one point I said, "Thanks for working so hard you guys!' and J replied, "We're not working hard. We're working easy!" That kid is a crackup.
After the work was done J read D a story which gave me the feels.
M created a mashed banana snack that she said was delicious. It had mashed bananas, pretzels, cinnamon, and chocolate syrup. More power to you Baby Girl.
J got the mask at school and refused to take it off. Said it would help him with the job.
