Oh nuts

A friend has an almond tree and gave us a bag full of them. M, J, and D had a blast using hammers to get the sweet almond meat out of that crazy tough shell. Getting it out in one piece is an art. You have to hit it with the right amount of vigor and restraint otherwise it won't open or you have smeared almond guts on the concrete. Another hazard is the flying bits of sharp shell. All in good fun.

C had fun playing inside and away from all the flying almond shrapnel.

Later my Sister stopped by and lulled C to sleep.
