Maybe tomorrow

C has been meeting all his milestones and we received the news today that he may be released from the hospital tomorrow! We were so excited to see him, but driving to the hospital tonight we got stuck in traffic for an hour. The most painful part was being able to see the hospital and knowing he was waiting for us and being unable to do anything, but sit and wait. I was pretty emotional by the time we got to his room.

Steve and I insisted the nurses wait until we got to the hospital before they started his car seat trial where he would sit in a car seat for 90 minutes and make sure he is able to maintain his oxygen and heart rate. The reason we insisted on being there is because by now we have learned his oxygen dips slightly when he falls into a deep sleep and his heart rate sky rockets when he screams. We knew the plan was for them to put him in a car seat and stand by and watch. Our plan was to stand by and calm him if he started to scream and wake him if he fell into a deep sleep. We had to do both and were on eggshells the entire time. We want him home. We are done with this place.

He passed the car seat trial. We are hopeful we may get to bring him home tomorrow.
