D loves flowers. A lot. He enjoys eating them, hitting them, petting them, pulling them, shoving them up his nose and in his ears, and generally abusing the plants. Since I was clearly failing at redirection, I have adopted this much yelled gem, "SMELL!!!!". I start yelling the word the second I see him eyeball my much adored flowers. It seems to be working. And I love that whenever he sees a flower he has started to say, "MEL!!!" with the same volume level I use. That's my boy.
