The first gray hair

It has finally happened. The first gray hair. Was it Steve, you ask? After all he is so old! No it wasn't. Well then it must be you Allyson. Why how wrong you are! I will spare you any more humiliation...it is M. My sweet five year old has her first gray hair. Last year her birth mom mentioned she had started going gray when she was about thirty so I made a mental note to talk to M about premature changes in hair color. Truthfully, the timing was more premature than imagined, but nature has forced my hand. For the record, M is well aware of her gray hair. It is right in the center of her forehead. We call it her power hair and tell her it is a special connection with her birth mom. She thinks that is pretty cool.
