FHE success

I don't want to jinx anything, but we have had family home evening for six consecutive weeks. This has been complete with songs, prayers, scriptures, and lesson.

Here are two of the kid's favorite lessons.

We taped a picture of Jesus on the front door and talked about the steps we have to take to live with him again. As we discussed each step (baptism, prayer, scripture study, temple attendance, etc.) M would jump from shoe to shoe. J tried to follow and it ended in a fight over shoes beneath the picture of Jesus.

Another favorite lesson was when we read a story in the Friend magazine about a game where you toss a beanbag to someone and say what you like about that person. We got out our beanbags and tossed them around while saying perfectly lovely things to one another. This continued until M upped the ante and proved she could be a pitcher in the major leagues after trying to pelt us in the head.

The multi-purpose beanbag.

Our little sponge.

Ahhhh...sweet success.

  1. I'm researching Family Home Evening for a presentation at a Relief Society meeting. Thank you for sharing your sweet success. Keep up the good work. Our 4 children are grown and long gone from our home but fond FHE memories are still here!!
