Labor of (ice cream) love

My father-in-law raves about Snelgrove's caramel cashew ice cream and since they were bought out and the brand discontinued I thought it would be nice to make him some for his birthday. I spent a lot of time researching and brainstorming and I found a recipe for salted caramel ice cream and added boiled cashews to it. I just want everyone to know that it took me two hours to prepare the ingredients to freeze. Insane. Second insane thing...I made my own caramel by burning sugar and adding cream. Who knew? I hope he liked it because I never want to make that particular ice cream again.
