"He's cute"

This just happened this afternoon and I have been laughing ever since.

M was looking out the front window, saw a boy walking a dog and called out to me:

"Mommy, that little boy is taking the doggy. (pause) He's cute."

So I had to ask, "The boy or the dog?"

"The dog".

Oh good heavens! I wonder how much longer I have before she starts noticing boys are far cuter than dogs. Apparently, I still have some time.
