Our mini vacation is definitely over

When we came home from St George we found a small pool of blood at the base of our upright freezer in the garage. This is NEVER good. Turns out the freezer door had not been properly shut and everything inside had defrosted. I had no idea how long the meat had been unfrozen so I threw it all away rather than risk food poisoning. A lot of pigs, turkeys, deer, chickens, and cows died in vain. A moment of silence please. I spent an hour cleaning the blood from the inside of the freezer and disinfecting the appliance and floor, but four days later our garage still smells like a butcher shop.
