Memorial Day and Grad School Get Together

Hope everyone's Memorial Day was great. We got our garden in. 12 tomato plants, 6 tomatillo plants, 6 jalapeno plants, 2 hills of yellow squash, 2 hills of zucchini, 2 rows of beets, and 2 rows of okra. If you have never had my fried okra, you are missing out. It is a southern staple and something that followed my family to Utah. My mouth is watering just writing about it.

After we put the garden in, we went to see my family. No BBQ today, folks. Just a real American classic...pizza. (The stuff we ate had no Italian roots. Just pure grease. Mmmmm.) We also played the Name Game which is similar to Catch Phrase. My family loves word games. Games like Catch Phrase, Boggle, and Taboo are huge hits with us.

On Friday night we got together with some of my friends from grad school and their husbands. What fabulous people. We spent the night laughing. That is the best way to spend any night. Ladies, it was lovely to be with you again sans the homework. Gentlemen, you made wonderful choices in your eternal companions. (That means you too, Steve!) Our house is open for the next get together!

While I am on here, M does some pretty impressive somersaults and she was looking adorable yesterday. What a doll.
