The Polar Express meets a funeral

As a Christmas present to ourselves we went on the Heber Creeper. The 110 year old train is converted into the Christmas story The Polar Express. They serve hot chocolate and cookies, read the story, and sing Christmas songs. There are elves that tell jokes and we travel to the North Pole where Santa waves as we pass and then comes aboard with Mrs. Claus and hands out bells to the kids. M was in shock, but seeing Santa has been all she has talked about since. It was really nice to get caught up in the excitement and wonder of Christmas.

Unfortunately, right after that we had to drive to Idaho to attend a funeral. Steve's aunt died of cancer. She was so young (in her 50's) and the youngest of her siblings. It just doesn't seem right somehow...

Even in the midst of this tragic time M had us laughing. While we were talking to family she started calling for help. Hmmm...never a good thing. When I looked down I started laughing. She managed to wiggle under the chairs and get stuck. Oh man. Sure do love that little girl!
