Yesterday my sister was finally able to safely drive home from Logan so we got together and made pizza and decorated their Christmas tree. A note about the pizza. We had never tried to make pizza before and the stuffed crust chicken was fabulous while the classic spinach was vomitous. Some of you may be saying 'Duh Allyson. All you had to say was spinach'. However, normally we are huge fans of spinach, artichokes, chard, brussel sprouts, asparagus and the like. Not last night. Two thumbs down on the spinach pizza.
In Steve's family they have gorgeous Christmas trees. You cannot see one cord from the lights, the ornaments are beautiful and precisely matched and placed. No kidding. The tree is glorious. Not so with my family. After we race around the tree placing lights like most people place garland, we reach for the boxes of ornaments. Every ornament has a story from the dog biscuit reindeer to Aladin's lamp. We throw them on the nearest branch and grab more. We love retelling each ornament story. You can imagine how distressed we were when we realized we were missing a box of ornaments. My mom moved this year and we are hoping we haven't lost those stories permanently. What a total bummer that would be! We hope they are hiding in the basement.
