What do Antelope Island and Snowbird Ski Resort have in common?

The only thing they have in common, that we know of, is that we went to both of them yesterday. Snowbird was having a customer appreciation promotion and offered free tram rides with a can of food. It was a gorgeous day, but chilly at the top of the mountain. Loved the ride! There are four towers that hold the cables and when the tram goes over them it swings. There is nothing to hold onto so there are a few unstable moments that make your stomach bottom out.

Then on to Antelope Island to watch the Great Buffalo Roundup. Totally fantastic! There are about 500-700 bison that live on the island and each year they are monitored for disease and their overall health is checked. They corral them on the north end and over several days herd them through the checkpoint station where a hydraulic machine holds the animal and a team of individuals do an exam. Then the machine releases the animal and it runs out to pasture. It was a sight to behold and a unique sound to hear. Buffalo are loud. Now we know.
